Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the transportation services provided by Ernie's Taxi & Car Service. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Services

Ernie's Taxi & Car Service is a WCTLC Licensed Base Operator (License No. TLC WC: 2600666) providing professional taxi and car service throughout Westchester County NY and the surrounding Tri-State area including airport transportation, local taxi, executive car service, wedding transportation, prom service, medical transport, and long distance rides.

2. Booking and Reservations

Advance bookings: We recommend booking airport transfers at least 24 hours in advance. Early morning pickups before 6 AM require advance booking.

Confirmation: Your booking is confirmed when you receive verbal or written confirmation from our team. We reserve the right to decline bookings at our discretion.

Accuracy: You are responsible for providing accurate pickup addresses, destinations, flight information, and contact details. We are not liable for delays resulting from inaccurate information provided by the customer.

3. Pricing and Payment

Fixed flat rates: We charge fixed flat rates for all services. The rate quoted at booking is the rate you pay — no surge pricing ever.

Additional charges: Additional charges may apply for extra stops, waiting time beyond 15 minutes, tolls (passed through at cost), airport parking fees, and after-hours local service (10 PM to 6 AM).

Payment: We accept cash and major credit cards. Payment is due upon completion of service unless corporate account arrangements have been made.

Gratuity: Gratuity is not included and is at your discretion. It is always appreciated by our professional drivers.

4. Cancellation Policy

Standard cancellations: Cancellations made more than 2 hours before scheduled pickup are accepted without charge.

Late cancellations: Cancellations made less than 2 hours before scheduled pickup may be subject to a fee of 50% of the quoted fare.

No-shows: If you are not present at the pickup location within 15 minutes of scheduled time without prior notice, the full fare may be charged.

Airport pickups: We monitor your flight and adjust pickup time accordingly. Cancellations must be made before the driver departs for the airport.

5. Passenger Responsibilities

• Be ready at the agreed pickup location at the scheduled time
• Treat drivers with respect and courtesy at all times
• Not engage in behavior that endangers the driver or other passengers
• Comply with all applicable laws during transport
• No smoking, vaping, or alcohol consumption in our vehicles
• Be responsible for any damage caused to our vehicles

6. Service Hours & Limitations

Local taxi: Available 6 AM to 10 PM daily throughout Westchester County.

Airport & long distance: Available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Weather & traffic: We make every effort to provide on-time service but are not liable for delays caused by extreme weather, traffic, or circumstances beyond our control.

7. Liability

Ernie's Taxi & Car Service carries all required commercial insurance as mandated by the WCTLC. Our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the transportation service provided. We are not liable for missed flights or connections due to traffic or weather beyond our control, loss or damage to personal property, or consequential damages.

8. Lost Items

Contact us immediately at (914) 666-7373 if you leave items in our vehicle. We will make reasonable efforts to return found items but cannot guarantee their recovery.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Westchester County, New York.
